How to Setup Data Set?

Overview

A Data Set refers to the source from which the necessary information is fetched to include in the document. It can include information directly from a selected object (e.g., Opportunity, Account, or any custom object), as well as related data (via lookup relationships) or even unrelated data (without lookup relationships).

Steps to setup Data Set

  1. Open the docuWeaver application interface.

  2. Select the Document Generator tab from the main navigation.

  3. Create a New Data Set

    1. In the left panel, select Data Set.

    2. Click on New to create a new data set.

  4. Configure Data Set Source

    1. Set Type to Record.

    2. Choose the connection name.

    3. Select the desired Object Name from which document data will be sourced.

  5. Define Relationships (If required)

    • In the Relationship tab, add

      • Add Parent Field: Retrieve details from a parent record.

      • Add Child Relationship: Retrieve data from multiple child objects.

      • Add Model: Retrieve data from an object that is not related through lookups.

    • Click Next to proceed.

  6. Tag Fields for Document Template

    1. In the Field Tagger section, select the object.

    2. Copy the respective field taggers for the fields to be included in the document template.

  7. Click Save to finalize the data set configuration.
