How to Configure and Upload Document Template

Updated yesterday

Overview

This article describes the process of setting up and uploading document templates. Uploaded templates are utilized to generate documents with data populated from Salesforce.

Document templates contain field tagger values, which serve as placeholders for Salesforce data. When a document is generated, the system automatically replaces these field tagger values with corresponding data from Salesforce, ensuring accurate and dynamic document creation.

Pre-requisite

Before uploading a document template into docuWeaver, ensure that all necessary field tags have been added to the template. These tags enable dynamic insertion of Salesforce record data into the generated documents. For detailed guidance on adding field tags, refer to the below help links provided.

Steps to Setup and Upload Document Template

  1. Prepare or obtain the required document template file (.docx).

  2. Open the docuWeaver application and log in.

  3. Navigate to the Document Template section in the application.

  4. Click New Doc Template.

    Setup Document Template

  5. Enter the required details:

    • Data Set: Select the correct data set from which the required Salesforce data will be fetched for use in the document template. Ensure that the field tagger values copied earlier were sourced from this selected data set.

    • Output Format: Choose the required format (PDF or DOCX) in which the document will be generated.

    • Name and Label: Provide a unique name and label.

  6. Upload the prepared .docx template file.

    Setup Document Template

  7. The document template is now ready for use in generating documents with dynamic Salesforce data.
